LAST CALL TO VOLUNTEER!
Official Pix is honored to be hosting the autograph hall at Celebration Anaheim and is ready to recruit volunteers!
**WHAT
WE KNOW SO FAR:
Volunteering is fun! You may be sitting with guests and assisting them
by collecting autograph tickets and writing post-its for
personalization. You may be helping sell exclusives in the Official Pix
store. You may be helping with line control and autograph ticket sales.
You will be answering questions for anxious attendees that are as
excited to meet the guests as you are to be working around them.
Whatever your job is, KNOW THAT IT IS IMPORTANT AND WE CAN'T DO IT
WITHOUT YOU!
There will be an on-site volunteer orientation for final instructions, questions, and to pick up your volunteer shirt. This will most likely be WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15th in late afternoon / early evening. I do not have any more information on orientation at this time.
**WHAT YOU GET FOR VOLUNTEERING: Signed Celebration lithographs by the attending guests! While you CANNOT pick which autographs you receive, know that they will all be different. For example, for working an entire day (2 shifts), you will receive SEVEN signed lithographs. We distribute them randomly but also quality control them; that means NO DUPLICATES, and not all of the least expensive signatures in any one packet. You will get a good variety. To get the very BEST variety, comp packets should not be picked up until Sunday morning when possible.
You will receive a volunteer shirt to wear when working; please do NOT wear it when NOT working, but it is YOURS to keep.
The opportunity to work with the Star Wars Celebrities is a HUGE perk in itself! All of these actors are fascinating people with years of stories to share with visiting fans and many of you will be right there to hear them.
Other compensation perks are in the works.
**WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU: You need to be committed to volunteering. Hours of scheduling are dedicated to making sure our guests and customers are taken care of while at the convention. If you sign up all day Friday, for example, that means you are in the volunteer hall working for Official Pix for the entire day. Yes, you can take bathroom breaks and will have a chance to eat lunch. (I encourage you to pack snacks and water as these are not provided for us.) NO, you cannot leave for an hour to shop or attend a Q&A. Often times, the programming schedule for conventions is released very close to the start of the convention. I cannot have volunteers backing out of shifts to see certain panels. When you give me shifts that you are willing to work, I need you to stick to them.
If you purchase photo ops that occur during your shift, you WILL be able to get your photo op done! The photo area is usually within the autograph hall itself and the line moves very quickly.
You need to be kind and patient. Many people will be moving in all directions at once, asking questions and being very nervous about getting their autographs and meeting their heroes . I expect everyone to react kindly at all times. We are all fans! We need to be patient and helpful, even if someone is not being patient with you; reassure them! EVERYONE WILL GET THEIR AUTOGRAPHS. That includes you guys!
Do NOT worry that volunteering will prohibit you from getting the signatures you want. If you buy autograph tickets, try use them on the days you are NOT working, but if you need help with the bigger guests, we will make sure you get your signatures.
You need to be professional. DO NOT USE YOUR VOLUNTEER STATUS TO GET INTO AREAS WHERE YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE. If you are assigned to be a guest escort, you are to conduct yourself accordingly at all times - NO GEEKING OUT! :) We are there to assist the guests, not scare and stalk them! Do not ask the guests for free autographs. Do not ask for photographs from the guests or take photos of the guests if the guest is not allowing photos at the table!
**IF YOU ARE IN AGREEMENT AND ARE READY TO PICK YOUR SHIFTS:
1) PLEASE TELL ME HOW MANY SHIFTS YOU WANT TO WORK. A minimum of two shifts is preferred.
2) Please put your shift preferences in order. IF YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT WORK A SHIFT, JUST DON'T LIST IT. If you want to work a whole day, that is two shifts. The overlap is there to allow for shift change for those NOT working a whole day.

4) Please confirm your shirt size. I need to order shirts so I need your reply by FRIDAY APRIL 3rd, 2015!
